PERFORMANCE DOGS . . .
               Have fun with your Ridgeback!

Buzz's (in yellow) first ASFA trial -
he gets Best of Breed after this run!
Performance activities like lure coursing, tracking, herding, obedience, agility, oval track and straight racing are fun ways to get out and do something with your Ridgeback.  Owners who do activities
with their pets are more likely to have well-behaved and well-socialized companions.  Lure coursing and straight racing are also wonderful ways to exercise your "couch potato" and no training is
required of the owner - what could be easier?  Lure coursing, tracking and obedience trials are sponsored by the
American Kennel Club - more information can be found on the AKC's website.
Straight racing is sponsored by the
Large Gazehound Racing Association (LGRA), and  the American Sighthound Field Association (ASFA) also puts on lure coursing events. The National Oval
Track Racing Association (NOTRA) sponsors oval track trials for sighthounds.
